How to Replace a Windsock

Watch the video for our simple, easy to follow, steps on replacing your windsock on a Windtek windsock frame.

What type of pole am I going to mount this on?

While everyone has a different application and different areas in which they mount their windsock. The most popular method is to get a galvanized water pipe and put a reducer/coupler to the top and just screw the bearing right in into the female pipe thread.

Another excellent idea we use here at Windtek is to place a 2×4 post into the ground and attach brackets onto the side of the post, holding the galvanized water pipe. This method allows you to easily bring the pipe down when you need replacement, instead of climbing to the top.

The 8″, 10″ and 13″ units attach to a 1/2 inch female fitting.  The 18″ and 24″ units attach to a 3/4 inch female fitting and the 36″ unit attaches to a 1 1/4 inch female fitting.
